CD Review: The Isley Brothers & Santana - Power Of Peace

What can be better than new albums from music legends The Isley Brothers and Santana? An album featuring both acts performing together!

It might be well over half a century since both acts rocked the charts but as Power of Peace proves Santana and The Isley Brothers still have what it takes to deliver melodious music when Carlos Santana’s majestic guitar playing compliments Ronald Isley’s lead vocals so well.

The premise of the album features renditions of many tracks popularised by artists who have been purveyors of musical joy and excellence. Santana and The Isley’s therefore deliver the goods with an upbeat rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Higher Ground, a soulful take on Bacharach & David’s What The World Needs Now Is Love and a gospel flavoured rendition of Billie Holliday’s God Bless The Child, all contributing to making Power of Peace one of the major album events of the year.
