CD Review: Mark Wynter - Venus In Blue Jeans

CD Review: Mark Wynter - Venus In Blue Jeans

In the early 1960s, Mark Wynter truly embodied the teen idol image in the UK charts with hits such as Go Away Little Girl, Image of A Girl and Venus In Blue Jeans.

Although Wynter’s chart success was eclipsed by the 1963 beat boom he managed to transfer successfully to the live circuit to keep interest in his recordings for several years afterwards as well as appearances in films such as Just for Fun and Just for You.

Venus In Blue Jeans, a new 3 CD compilation from RPM Records borrows its title from Wynter’s most famous hit which is book ended by material varying from skiffle to feel-good pop standards.

A treasure trove of singles album tracks and previously unreleased material the set comes with an informative booklet and beautifully packaged sleeves for each CD. A must for 60s fans!
