South Wales Songwriters Unite For New Single From Darren Parry
South Wales songwriters Darren Parry and Gavin Clifton have collaborated on a new single set for release next month.
Why Won’t You Let Me Love You features Darren on lead vocals/backing vocals/keyboards and Al Steele of Shabbey Road Studios on all other instruments/backing vox.
Produced at Shabbey Road by Darren, Gavin and Al Steele the song is perfectly in keeping with the current contemporary Electro – Pop/RnB scene and would not be out of place alongside a Bruno Mars, Calum Scott or Olly Murs release.
Darren was the 2004 UK Songwriting Champion with his song, Reality, beating 6000 entries from around the world and signing a Publishing deal with Scamp Music for the track. As well as being a successful solo artist in his own right Darren has written songs and produced for other artists such as Andrew Mark Jones, Nina Jones and Lee Gilbert.
Darren and Gavin have been aware of each other for some time on the South Wales songwriting scene and met a few times at the recording studio before deciding to work together on this track. The track was written remarkably in one song-writing session of only about an hour.
More remarkable is that Gavin was born with a condition called cerebral palsy, and has a speech impediment. Despite his condition, Gavin has pursued his dream of songwriting and even set up his own record company, Clifton Music. Gavin has also co-written a song called Talk to Me with Dan and Laura Curtis, who are well known for writings songs for West End singers and performers such as Glee’s Jenna Ushkowitz. The single is to be released sometime in the future.
- In the meantime, all eyes are on Why Won’t You Let Me Love You which will be released on all major download/streaming sites on August 21.
